Fresha POS System Review 2027: Pricing, Fees and Verdict

How we make money: CanComCo earns a commission from some POS and payments vendors when a business we refer signs up. Commission never changes a rating or a price we publish.

Fresha at a Glance

Starting price Not published by Fresha. Capterra lists $14.95 per user per month on a "Team plan", a tier name Fresha's own pages do not use.
How it charges Per bookable team member, in Fresha's words: it "charges for each bookable team member". Not per location or per terminal.
Payment processing fee Not published. Described only as "low cost" and "low fees and no hidden costs". No percentage or per-transaction figure appears on any page we read.
Contract and cancellation "No contracts or long-term commitments" and a "flexible monthly subscription model that you can cancel at any time", per Fresha. Capterra users publish a countervailing con, "Restrictive cancellation policies".
Free trial or free plan A 7-day free trial, no credit card required. Fresha says it is "free to get started"; Capterra records "Free version not included". The two do not agree.
Hardware Not researched for this page. Whether Fresha sells branded terminals was not established, so we state nothing about it.
Other unpriced costs Fresha offers "paid packages that provide additional data migration support" for larger partners, with no amount attached.
Countries Fresha's own Capterra copy claims it is "trusted by millions of professionals in over 120 countries". That is a vendor claim. We did not verify an availability list and do not reproduce one.
Standout The best-reviewed product on this site: 4.8 on Capterra from 1,449, 4.8 on Trustpilot from 7,586.
Biggest weakness No published price of any kind, on a page whose own copy calls its pricing transparent.

Fresha Pricing: What You'll Actually Pay

We cannot tell you. That is the finding, and it is the reason this section is shorter than it is on every other review we publish.

What Fresha publishes about its own pricing

ItemWhat Fresha states
Subscription amountNo figure, on any page read
What it charges for"Fresha charges for each bookable team member, so as your business expands our flexible pricing model will grow with you"
Billing model"We offer a flexible monthly subscription model that you can cancel at any time"
Entry point"Fresha is free to get started, with a flexible monthly plan for gyms, studios, and fitness businesses with staff"
Commitment"No contracts or long-term commitments" and, in its FAQ, "No, there's no minimum commitment or long-term contract"
Free trial"a 7-day free trial, no credit card required"
Card processingNo rate. "Enjoy low cost, safe and hassle-free payments" and "Accept card, cash, tap-to-pay, or mobile payments with low fees and no hidden costs"
Extra services"For larger partners with more complex needs, we also offer paid packages that provide additional data migration support". No amount given.

THE SENTENCE THAT DEFINES THIS PAGE

Both Fresha business pages we read carry this line: "Fresha has simple, clear and transparent pricing, for more details, visit our pricing page."

That pricing page returns a help centre. It contains no subscription figure, no card rate and no fee of any kind. It also carries a robots noindex tag, which instructs search engines not to list it.

A claim of transparent pricing, pointing at a page with no prices that asks not to be indexed, is the single most important thing a buyer should know about Fresha before a sales call.

The only number anyone publishes

Capterra lists Fresha's starting price as $14.95 per user per month, attached to a "Team plan". Treat that as Capterra's figure. Fresha publishes no price, uses no such tier name on the pages we read, and has not confirmed it. Capterra also records "Free version not included", which sits against Fresha's own "free to get started".

Payment processing

Transaction typeRate
In personNot published
OnlineNot published
KeyedNot published
Deposit or no-show feeNot published
Cross-border or multi-currencyNot published

Fresha processes payments itself. It publishes no rate for doing so. We are not going to call those fees low, because the only people who have published a view on them are Capterra reviewers, and their label is "Opaque and increasing fee structure".

REAL MONTHLY COST

A three-chair salon, using the only figures anyone publishes:

Subscription, using Capterra's $14.95 per user: 3 x $14.95 = $44.85 a month

Card processing: unknown. No Fresha rate exists to calculate with.

To show the size of the hole, price the same salon on Square, where every figure is published. Square Free is $0 a month and charges 2.6% + 15 cents in person. On $8,000 a month across 400 transactions: $8,000 x 0.026 = $208.00, plus 400 x $0.15 = $60.00, giving $268.00. Square's total for that salon is $268.00 a month, all of it knowable in advance.

On that volume the processing line is roughly six times the subscription line ($268.00 against $44.85). The number Fresha does not publish is the one that dominates the bill.

Ask for the per-member subscription figure and the card rate in writing before you sign.

Fresha Features: What Works and What Doesn't

Written from Fresha's published pages and from review data on G2, Capterra and Trustpilot. No one at CanComCo has operated this product.

Booking is the product

Appointment booking is the core job, and everything else hangs off it. Fresha names Google, Facebook and Instagram as booking channels in its own copy, and clients can book "directly through Google search". It also runs a consumer marketplace: Trustpilot categorizes fresha.com under Online Marketplace as well as Software Company, and reviewers mention it bringing in new clients. For a salon, that marketplace is a real acquisition channel, and it is the part of Fresha that no conventional POS offers.

No-show protection and memberships

For an appointment business, the commercial case sits here. Fresha offers enforcing cancellation policies, storing cards securely and requiring deposits for high-demand slots, alongside "full upfront payments or taking a deposit at the time of booking". On the same pages it offers selling "memberships, multi-session packs, drop-ins, and recovery services". Those two capabilities together are what a studio losing revenue to no-shows is buying. No deposit amount or no-show fee is published.

Point of sale and retail

Retail exists but is secondary: selling "supplements, gear, and recovery tools in-studio or online with full inventory and payment tracking". Inventory tracking is claimed; low-stock alerts specifically were not confirmed on the pages we read. Confirmed elsewhere in the brief's checklist: product catalog management, online ordering, customer profiles and CRM, a built-in loyalty program, gift cards, multi-user permissions and a real-time reporting dashboard.

What is not a retail POS

Barcode scanning, multi-location inventory sync, purchase orders, supplier management, product variants, split checks, tip pooling, kitchen display, table management, employee time tracking, offline mode, multi-currency, API access and a third-party app store were none of them confirmed on the pages we read. Treat those as unconfirmed rather than proven absent. Either way, do not shortlist Fresha as a shop till. A retailer should be looking at Square or Lightspeed.

The integrations question

Fresha's named booking channels are Google, Facebook and Instagram, plus its own marketplace and its own payments. That list comes from Fresha's marketing copy, not from a verified integrations directory. Accounting tools, email and SMS marketing providers, hardware partners and any third-party app directory were not researched for this page, so we name none. If you depend on a specific integration, confirm it before a trial.

Feature claims verified against Fresha's salon and fitness pages and Capterra in November 2026.

Hardware and Setup

Fresha's hardware was not researched for this page, and we are not going to fill the gap with guesses. Whether Fresha sells branded terminals, which card readers it supports, and what any of them cost are all open questions. Ask before you commit, particularly if you need a physical reader at the desk rather than a phone.

What is published is the trial and the entry path: a 7-day free trial with no credit card required, and Fresha's claim that it is "free to get started". Capterra's listing records the opposite on the free version, "Free version not included", while agreeing a trial exists. Seven days is short for a salon with a full appointment book, so plan the trial around a week you can actually test bookings, deposits and a payout.

One cost category sits outside the subscription. Fresha offers "paid packages that provide additional data migration support" for larger partners. If you are moving from another booking system with years of client records, that is the line to get quoted.

No setup timeline is published, so we give none.

Customer Support: What to Expect When Things Break

This is Fresha's strongest published evidence, and it is worth being specific about what the evidence actually is.

Capterra scores Customer Service 4.8 out of 5 from 1,365 reviews. That is the highest support score of any vendor on this site, on a sample large enough to mean something. For comparison, the best Capterra support score elsewhere in our reviews is Shopify POS at 4.4.

Trustpilot's own summary points the same way. Its AI-generated summary of 3,568 reviews names helpful and patient staff, responsive support agents and prompt replies as the recurring themes. Fresha has replied to 98% of its negative Trustpilot reviews, and has held a claimed profile there since December 2021.

What is not published: which support channels exist, what hours they run, which languages they cover, whether phone support is tier-gated, and whether there is a status page. None of that was researched for this page, and we will not infer a channel list from a score. If support availability matters to you, ask for the channels and hours in writing.

One honest note on the evidence. Trustpilot's summary of 3,568 reviews names no fee or payment theme at all. Capterra's published cons, from a different reviewer base, name two. Both can be true: people who contact support are happy with support, and people writing about fees are unhappy about fees.

Fresha Pros and Cons

Pros

  • The best-reviewed product on this site. Capterra 4.8 from 1,449 reviews, Trustpilot 4.8 from 7,586. Not a thin sample on either.
  • Support that the numbers back. Capterra scores Customer Service 4.8 from 1,365 reviews, the highest we have recorded, and Trustpilot's review themes are dominated by staff responsiveness.
  • Priced per bookable team member. Every other vendor we review charges per store, per terminal or per location, which penalizes the smallest operators. A one-chair business pays for one person. The catch is in the cons.
  • No contract, in Fresha's own words. "No contracts or long-term commitments", against Clover's 36-month financing and Erply's 30-day written notice.
  • No-show protection and membership selling in one product. Enforced cancellation policies, stored cards, deposits on high-demand slots, memberships, multi-session packs and drop-ins.
  • A consumer marketplace attached. Fresha is a booking destination as well as software, and reviewers credit it with bringing in new clients. No conventional POS offers that.

Cons

  • No published price of any kind. No subscription figure, no card rate, no deposit or no-show fee. You cannot compare Fresha on cost against anything on this site.
  • Its own copy calls that pricing transparent. Both business pages promise "simple, clear and transparent pricing" and link to a pricing page with no figures that carries a noindex tag.
  • Its users flag fees and payments. Capterra publishes "Complicated and unreliable payment handling" (87 reviews, 37% negative) and "Opaque and increasing fee structure" (40 reviews, 68% negative). The second is the strongest negative signal on the listing.
  • And they flag cancellation. Capterra's third con is "Restrictive cancellation policies" (38 reviews, 58% negative), which sits directly against Fresha's own no-contract promise. Get the cancellation terms in writing.
  • It is not a retail POS. Barcode scanning, multi-location inventory sync, purchase orders and supplier management were none of them confirmed. A shop should look elsewhere.
  • The free tier is unresolved. Fresha says "free to get started". Capterra records "Free version not included". Nobody states plainly where free ends and paid begins.

This profile suits a small salon, spa or studio that will phone for a quote and read the cancellation terms. It frustrates anyone who needs to budget from a website, and anyone selling product over a counter.

How the 4.5 was calculated. The unweighted mean of the product-specific published scores: G2 4.2 + Capterra 4.8 = 9.0, divided by 2 = 4.5. Trustpilot is excluded by method.

What that does to the number. G2's 3 reviews are 0.2% of the 1,452 reviews in the mean and 50% of the rating. Weighted by review count the figure would be 4.8. The unweighted method costs Fresha 0.3 on a sample of three, and G2 itself says three is not enough to draw a conclusion from. Capterra alone, on 1,449 reviews, says 4.8.

Capterra's published pros, with its own sample sizes: "Streamlined daily business management" (348 reviews, 98% positive), "Customizable and organized interface" (91 reviews, 98% positive), "Quick and intuitive setup process" (53 reviews, 100% positive).

Capterra's published cons, same treatment: "Complicated and unreliable payment handling" (87 reviews, 37% negative), "Opaque and increasing fee structure" (40 reviews, 68% negative), "Restrictive cancellation policies" (38 reviews, 58% negative). Read the percentages. The payment-handling label is attached to 87 reviews of which most were not negative; the fee-structure label is attached to fewer reviews but is the most negative thing on the listing.

The distribution is worth a look. On Trustpilot, 89% of 7,586 reviewers gave five stars and 8% gave one, with under 3% anywhere in between. Fresha is a product people either love or have a serious problem with, and the serious problems cluster around money.

Best Fresha Alternatives

Verified November 2026.

  • Square POS

Consider this where the business needs a real retail counter as well as a diary, or simply needs to know the price before signing up.

Every figure is published: Free at $0 a month, Plus at $49, Premium at $149, and Pro on custom pricing above $250,000 a year, all per location. In-person card rates are published per plan at 2.6% + 15 cents, 2.5% + 15 cents and 2.4% + 15 cents, with online at 3.3% or 2.9% + 30 cents and keyed at 3.5% + 15 cents throughout. A 30-day free trial on Plus and Premium, and you can "cancel or switch plans anytime". You give up: Fresha's review standing, its per-member pricing and its consumer marketplace. Square charges per location.

    From $0/month.

  • Vagaro

Consider this as the closest like-for-like in salon and spa booking, on a much larger review base.

Capterra scores it 4.7 from 3,684 reviews, two and a half times Fresha's Capterra sample, with Features 4.5 (3,596), Value for Money 4.6 (3,290) and Customer Service 4.6 (3,310). Capterra lists a starting price of $23.99 flat rate per month on a "One Location" plan, so it is priced per location rather than per bookable member. Two honest caveats. We could not read Vagaro's own pricing page: it returned a 403 to every attempt, so the $23.99 is Capterra's figure and unconfirmed by Vagaro. And Vagaro's own published cons are "Restrictive and confusing payments" and "Complicated card transaction handling", which is the same complaint category as Fresha's. You give up: 0.1 on the headline score and Fresha's marketplace.

Capterra lists from $23.99/month, unverified against Vagaro.

  • WellnessLiving

Consider this for studios running class schedules, memberships and check-in at the door.

Plans are published: Starter $69, Business $39, BusinessPro $69, Enterprise on request. Read those prices carefully. The $39 and $69 are promotional, marked "Save 80% for 2 Months" against list prices of $199 and $349, and the promotion is stated as expiring November 15, 2026. On the current page the Starter at $69 costs more than Business at $39 and the same as BusinessPro. Confirmed features: gym check-in with mobile barcodes and self-service kiosks, and automated class waitlists. Not confirmed: electronic waivers (the page names "Forms") and instructor substitution, which is not mentioned. No free trial is stated, only a demo, and no processing rates are published.

List price $199 to $349/month, currently discounted.

Fresha FAQ

How much does Fresha cost?

Fresha publishes no price. Its pages say only that it "charges for each bookable team member" under a "flexible monthly subscription model that you can cancel at any time". The only figure anyone publishes is Capterra's listed starting price of $14.95 per user per month on a "Team plan", which is Capterra's number and not Fresha's. Ask for the per-member figure in writing before you sign.

Is Fresha free?

Unresolved, and the two sources disagree. Fresha says it "is free to get started". Capterra records "Free version not included" while listing a free trial as available. The likely reading is that booking is free and paid tiers start when you add staff, but Fresha does not state that plainly, so we are not going to state it either.

What are Fresha's payment processing fees?

Not published. Fresha processes payments itself and describes them only as "low cost" and "low fees and no hidden costs", with no percentage or per-transaction figure on any page we read. Capterra reviewers publish the countervailing view under the label "Opaque and increasing fee structure".

Why does Fresha's pricing page have no prices?

We cannot tell you why, only what it does. Fresha's own business pages say it has "simple, clear and transparent pricing, for more details, visit our pricing page". That page returns a help centre with no figures and carries a noindex tag asking search engines not to list it.

Does Fresha have a free trial?

Yes. Seven days, with no credit card required, stated on Fresha's own business pages and corroborated by Capterra. Seven days is short for a salon with a full book, so plan it around a week where you can test bookings, deposits and a payout end to end.

Can I cancel Fresha at any time?

Fresha says yes: "No contracts or long-term commitments", and in its FAQ, "there's no minimum commitment or long-term contract". Set against that, Capterra publishes a con labelled "Restrictive cancellation policies", attached to 38 reviews of which 58% are negative. Get the cancellation terms in writing rather than relying on either source.

Is Fresha good for a retail shop?

No. Barcode scanning, multi-location inventory sync, purchase orders, supplier management and product variants were none of them confirmed on the pages we read. Retail in Fresha means selling products alongside services. A shop should look at Square or Lightspeed.

Why is Fresha rated 4.5 here when Capterra says 4.8?

Our rating is the unweighted mean of the product-specific published scores, which here are G2's 4.2 and Capterra's 4.8. G2's score rests on 3 reviews, which is 0.2% of the combined sample and half the rating. Weighted by review count the figure would be 4.8, and G2 itself says there are not enough reviews of Fresha for it to provide buying insight.

Is Fresha Right for Your Business?

Fresha is the best-reviewed product on this site and it is not close. Capterra puts it at 4.8 from 1,449 reviews with 96% positive sentiment and 4.8 on Ease of Use, Value for Money and Customer Service alike. Trustpilot adds 4.8 from 7,586. The support score is the highest we have recorded anywhere. It charges per bookable team member rather than per location, which is the only pricing model in this batch that does not punish a one-chair business, and it runs a consumer marketplace that brings in clients, which no conventional POS does. For a small salon, spa or studio where booking is the whole job, that is a strong shortlist case.

Then there is the part you cannot do from the website: work out what it costs. Fresha publishes no subscription figure, no card rate, no deposit or no-show fee, while its own pages call its pricing "simple, clear and transparent" and link to a pricing page that has no prices and asks not to be indexed. Its own reviewers publish three cons, and all three are about money or the exit: payment handling, an "Opaque and increasing fee structure", and "Restrictive cancellation policies". On an $8,000-a-month salon the processing line is roughly six times the subscription line, which means the number Fresha withholds is the one that decides the bill. Shortlist Fresha on its reviews, which are real and earned. Sign it only after you have the per-member price, the card rate and the cancellation terms in writing.

Our final rating: 4.5 / 5
